Prior to Beanworks Catherine had worked as a business leader in various companies. Catherine completed her Bachelor of Commerce at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University) and then started her career in Restaurant Management at the Olive Garden. She later moved to Vancouver and went back to school to get her Certified Management Accountants designation. She completed that while working and starting a family. She worked in various industries large and small, for profit and not-for-profit.
Eventually, she decided to work for herself and contract as a fractional CFO. This led her to a small start-up, Bean Services, that was a cloud solution that automated the accounts payable processes for mid to small sized businesses. In 2011, Bean Services failed. Catherine and a small group of former employees managed to secure a buy out and restart the company as Beanworks.
In the early years at Beanworks, Catherine struggled to get the systems in place to scale fast and predictably until one day early in 2015 one of her investors introduced her to the book Scaling Up by Vern Harness. This was the beginning of her journey towards learning and deploying the Metronomics System, even as Shannon was developing it. Later 2015 she got a coach and within short order Beanworksā€™ growth rate was well over 100% year over year until Beanworks was acquired.
Catherine now wants to spend her time helping others achieve the success goals and take control of their business systems as a Metronomics coach.
